Jim Wallace is manager of the Colonial Soil & Water Conservation District in southeastern Virginia. Jim first came to the District in 2000 to administer Chesapeake Bay agricultural compliance programs and transitioned into administering ag conservation programs. Along the way, Jim had the opportunity to become involved in many grant projects, where he learned the value and potential of new technologies being introduced into the ag industry. In 2012, Jim started his own business, Agritek, offering data management services as well as Channel seed products to his customers. In March 2016, Jim returned to the Colonial District to further their resource conservation efforts by exploring new ways of integrating data collected on the farm into the validation of incentive programs.
