Featured Presentation
Yield maps provide important information for developing and evaluating precision management strategies. The high-quality yield maps needed for decision-making require screening raw yield monitor datasets for errors and removing them before maps are made. To facilitate this process, we developed the Yield Editor interactive software which has been widely used by producers, consultants and researchers. In this presentation we describe a new version, Yield Editor 2.0. Some of the most difficult and time consuming issues involved in cleaning yield maps include determination of combine delay times, and the removal of “overlapped” data, especially near end rows. Several filters have been developed in this new version to automate these and other tasks, significantly increasing the reliability and reducing the difficulty of creating accurate yield maps.

Tour Details
The pre-conference tour will be Monday, July 11. The tour will leave the Crowne Plaza at 9:00am and return by 5:00pm. The tour will visit three central Illinois locations and provided demonstrations of precision ag equipment.
Bus transportation, lunch, and beverages will be provided.
Stop 1: Monsanto Illiopolis Seed Production Plant
The tour will consist of a short presentation overview of the different processing stages for Monsanto's Illiopolis seed production plant. We will then tour the plant starting with the harvest areas consisting of husksort, drying, and shelling areas. Then walking through the conditioning, packaging and warehouse areas. We will discuss our Precision Meter Max equipment and how we utilize this machine to help calibrate the grower’s planters.
Stop 2: Farm Progress Show Site
At the Show site we will get a guided tour from Matt Jungmann of the featured exhibits and plans for this year's show. We will have a demonstration of AutoCopter's remote controlled heliocopter and we will get a discussion of John Deere's latest nitrogen management strategies and associated equipment.
Stop 3: Jenner Sales Demonstrations
Capstan Ag Systems addresses common liquid application problems, develops answers and brings solutions to the marketplace. Products highlighted on the tour will address spray boom pressure control, liquid fertilizer application and distribution and our newest product in development which allows individual spray nozzle/row control with turn compensation ability. This technology will be demonstrated on our MCV (Mobile Classroom Vehicle) which will allow participants to observe how these technologies operate in the field.
We will also have a demonstration of the GVM/AgriPROBE, a professional soil sampling machine, fully integrated with AgJunction. Learn how the GVM AgriPROBE has been designed to help those who soil sample become more efficient in collecting samples, become more profitable and to not be physically worn out at the end of the day. The AgriPROBE can pull 6” – 12” deep sample cores and can easily handle different sample collection methods, soil types and textures and soil collection intensities. The in-cab sampling software is fully integrated with AgJunction and allows the user to provide a more consistent, repeatable service and gain more acres all while providing a climate controlled environment for the operator to work from.
